Google Glasses: What to Expect from the Augmented Reality Glasses

Putting their own social networking site Google+ to work, the internet giant unveiled a “Project Glass” web page on the site showing off the new prototypes for their augmented reality Google Glasses project.  Though the designs are a work in progress and look like something out of Star Trek, the more interesting part of the page is actually the video which shows what one would see while using the glasses.

So it appears that the Google Glasses will function more like a smart phone, allowing one to look up data through the use of voice commands.  It’s interesting to note that the glasses also appear to be able to record video or take photos.  If this is the case, I predict even more candid videos on YouTube exploiting users of public transit after the glasses comes out around the end of the year.
